Urban Heartbeats celebrating 100 years of public design by Knud V. Engelhardt
—
Designmuseum Denmark's outdoor exhibition celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Danish architect, designer and printer Knud V. Engelhardt's poster column, signage and typeface design from 1923. In collaboration with Gentofte Municipality, we pay tribute to Engelhardt's iconic public designs created exclusively for the Gentofte Municipality. The poster columns and the typeface with the red hearts still adorn, inform, and show the way through the veins of the city of Gentofte and are a canonical example of the importance of public design for visual and cultural local identity.
