Museum Director Anne-Louise Sommer has recently joined the board of New Carlsberg Foundation. As a board member, she will contribute to the foundation\u2019s work in strengthening the role of art in society and ensuring the foundation\u2019s continued development in the years to come.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anne-Louise Sommer, who has been the long-serving director of Designmuseum Danmark, has been appointed to the position of board member of New Carlsberg Foundation. New Carlsberg Foundation was established in 1902 by the brewer, art collector and philanthropist Carl Jacobsen and his wife Ottilia Jacobsen and is funded by the profits from Carlsberg A\/S. Today, the foundation continues to work towards realising the brewer\u2019s vision of making art accessible to the widest possible audience.<\/p>\n

It is Carlsberg Foundation that appoints the members of the Ny Carlsberg Foundation\u2019s board:<\/p>\n

“It is with great pleasure that I welcome Anne-Louise Sommer as a new member of New Carlsberg Foundation\u2019s board. Anne-Louise Sommer joins the New Carlsberg Foundation with strong expertise in design and architecture, as well as garden design and art in public spaces. With Anne-Louise Sommer\u2019s appointment, New Carlsberg Foundation gains a new professional profile, which will make a positive contribution to the foundation\u2019s future focus on craftsmanship, design, and garden design,”<\/em> states the Chair of the Carlsberg Foundation, Professor Majken Schultz.<\/p>\n

The Chair of the Ny Carlsberg Foundation, Sanne Kofod Olsen, adds:<\/p>\n

“[Anne-Louise Sommer’s] open, insightful, and engaged approach will undoubtedly be a strength for the board’s work going forward. At the same time, her impressive professional background in leadership, design, and research makes her a strong and capable new member, who will excellently complement the collective expertise of our board.”<\/em><\/p>\n
