Nanna Ditzel, Hallingdal, 1965

Nanna Ditzel, Hallingdal, 1965

In 1965, designer Nanna Ditzel created a textile collection for Percy Halling-Koch’s Design Center featuring rugs, throws, curtaining and upholstery fabrics. The upholstery fabric Hallingdal, which is the only design in the collection that has remained in production, became Kvadrat’s first upholstery fabric. Hallingdal, which was awarded the Danish Design Centre’s Classics Prize in 2001, has appeared in a wide range of colourways, most of them purely or near monochrome, and over the years, the fabric has sold several hundred million metres.
