LABORATORIUM CLAYDIES
LABORATORIUM is a series of exhibitions that showcases the design process – from the initial spark of an idea to the finished product or piece. The series looks inside the designer’s or maker’s workshop and creative universe to uncover how today’s innovative design and craft objects are created. The second LABORATORIUM exhibition presents ceramicists Karen Kjældgård-Larsen and Tine Broksø, who together form Claydies.
Claydies work conceptually and experimentally, using humor and irony to reinterpret familiar everyday objects in their ceramic works. For LABORATORIUM, they are creating a Christmas buffet composed of dishes crafted as ceramic artworks. The exhibition is part of Claydies’ project Ceramic Food Processes, in which they create food in ceramic form, rooted in specific techniques and methods. The exhibition offers insight into Claydies’ creative process and studio practice.
