NEW ’DREAM VIEW BENCHES’ IN THE MUSEUM GARDEN
A completely new sculptural piece of furniture with soft shapes that follow the natural form of the body has moved into the museum garden. The Danish designer Lise Vester has designed the new piece – Dream View Bench, created for Muuto, which invites you to gaze at the sky and relax. Museum visitors will encounter the new benches throughout the garden, where they encourage you to take a break.
Designer Lise Vester works from a belief that sensory design can enhance our mental well-being and wellness. This is the starting point for the Dream View Bench, which invites reflection and a break from everyday routines. The changing colors of the sky are mirrored in the bench’s glossy surface, and when sitting on the bench and looking up, one gains a new perspective on the surroundings.
Regarding the new design, Lise Vester states:
The sky remains ever-present – limitless and available to most, as long as we remember to look up. When we do, natural daylight, shifting colors, the moon, passing clouds, and birds suddenly feel within reach. This beauty – and these small moments of appreciation – are often overlooked in the rush of daily life. I wanted to create a design that draws the viewer’s gaze upward, curating moments of focus and daydreaming while gazing.
The bench’s playful, sculptural shape is a new take on how a bench can be designed – shaped according to the human body. Stop by the museum garden, which is always free to visit during museum opening hours, and try out the Dream View Bench, exhibited in collaboration with Muuto.
Right now, you can also experience selected works by Lise Vester in the museum’s foyer.
