Veronica Hodges’ artwork ‘The Golden Sky’ has taken new shape
Artist Veronica Hodges works with paper installations inspired by nature’s constant transformations. In collaboration with Designmuseum Danmark and its visitors, she has created 'The Golden Sky', a collective artwork that forms part of the museum’s futures programme, Planet A.
A compass of the future
The Golden Sky serves as a poetic symbol of our shared dreams and long-term visions. A compass for the future, pointing toward new directions for us as individuals and as a society. The work takes the shape of a tree adorned with delicate golden paper leaves inspired by Ginkgo biloba, the world’s oldest tree. On these leaves, visitors have shared their reflections on the pressing questions and challenges of our time.
The Golden Sky marks the beginning of a longer journey, where the museum will host a series of events and exhibitions that open up new ways of imagining the future. Artists, researchers and audiences will be invited to take part in co-creative processes where ideas can unfold and transform into concrete actions. The aim is to create a space where senses, thoughts and hopes meet and where we can collectively envision what a more sustainable future might look like.
The first exhibition in the Planet A programme, Home to the Future, will open at Designmuseum Danmark in 2027.
