3daysofdesign
From June 10-12, Designmuseum Danmark invites all design enthusiasts to explore an extensive event program during this year’s design festival in Copenhagen. Last year, 13,000 visitors attended the museum during 3daysofdesign. In addition to talks, workshops, atmospheric communal dinners, and a garden bar, the program this year will also feature a spectacular pavilion stage designed by Henrik Vibskov, a celebration of Verner Panton’s 100th anniversary, and a brand-new exhibition on the long-standing practice of the design agency Kontrapunkt.
At this year’s design festival, visitors to the museum can experience a comprehensive program of talks, exhibitions, workshops, and activities bringing together designers, architects, artists, and design enthusiasts around the theme Make this moment matter. The theme highlights the importance of the present moment in shaping the design choices of the future and explores how conscious, emotional, and meaningful design processes can help create a more responsible relationship between people, products, and the planet.
New Talk Pavilion by Henrik Vibskov
The program opens on Wednesday 10 June at 11 AM, when the museum’s director, Anne-Louise Sommer, will welcome guests, and designer Henrik Vibskov – who this autumn will present a major exhibition at the museum – will share the ideas behind the pavilion he has created especially for the festival. Over the course of the three days, a wide range of inspiring speakers will visit the garden for conversations and talks on topics including zero waste, the role of design in society, European design culture, and circular business models.
Verner Panton Turns 100
In 2026, it will be 100 years since Verner Panton was born. As a visionary figure in Danish design, he fundamentally reimagined the relationship between people, space, form, and color, expanding the language of design. During 3daysofdesign, Designmuseum Danmark marks the Verner Panton centenary with a selection of the designer’s furniture and lamps displayed throughout the museum – from the museum café to the forecourt. On Thursday, June 11 at 6 PM, the celebration culminates with drinks and a talk on Verner Panton’s life and work by Ida Engholm, professor at the Royal Danish Academy, followed by a musical performance by the jazz duo Cort Lunde.
Exhibition Featuring Kontrapunkt
On Friday, June 12, the festival program also includes the opening of a new exhibition. Over four decades, the design agency Kontrapunkt has left a significant mark on Denmark, shaping the visual narratives of banks, ministries, museums, and more. In a new LABORATORIUM exhibition, visitors can explore selected brand cases up close and gain unique insight into the stories behind the visual identities of well-known institutions.
A Vibrant Festival Program
Throughout 3daysofdesign, activities will take place across the museum grounds. Brunch will be served in the museum café from the morning onward, and throughout the day both the garden pop-up bar and Lille Format on the front courtyard will be open, offering hot and cold drinks as well as light meals. In the evenings, communal dinners will be held in the garden.
Participation in all 3daysofdesign activities at the museum is free of charge, though admission tickets are required for the museum exhibitions. All talks will be held in English.
