WHAT'S ON

Autumn at Design museum Danmark

Autumn brings creative and inspiring activities for the whole family at Designmuseum Danmark.

When the leaves start to fall, creativity blossoms at the designmuseum. In addition to eight exhibitions, showcasing everything from iconic classics to new perspectives on design history, the Banquet Hall buzzes with life when we transform the space into an open workshop for children. Here, little hands and curious minds can let their imagination run free, try out techniques and get a glimpse into the very heart of the design process.

BEND AND SHAPE IN WIRE

Come and form steel wire into functional and personal objects that you can take home.

Designmuseum Danmark is opening a new workshop concept in the Banquet Hall, which is otherwise closed to the public. Here, children get the chance to experiment with materials and techniques and gain a sense of the design process.

Access to the workshop is included in your museum ticket. Children under 18 enjoy free admission but must still reserve a ticket. If the workshop is full, you can always start by exploring the exhibitions.

BREATHE OUT IN THE MUSEUM GARDEN

At the heart of the museum’s square building lies the hidden gem of the museum garden: a green breathing space and oasis away from the city’s noise and traffic. It’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a quiet moment under the open sky.

At the same time, the garden is full of life: among the trees and flowers stand several sculptures, including Anne Brandhøj’s group of sculptures Playmates, three whimsical wooden figures that invite play, imagination, and curiosity.

The museum garden offers plenty of room for both peace and play. It’s a place where children can run freely and adults can find a moment of calm.
