CREATIVE WORKSHOP: TEXTILE PRINTING WITH MANHOLE COVERS
Thursday May 21 from 16-17.30
Give an old cotton T-shirt new life through graphic textile printing in collaboration with Raubdruckerin from Berlin.
Join us as everyday, often overlooked surfaces are transformed into unique textile prints, when Designmuseum Denmark invites you to an open print workshop in collaboration with the Berlin-based art and print project Raubdruckerin. Raubdruckerin works experimentally with imprints from the city’s streets and urban spaces, using manhole covers, grates, and other urban surfaces as printing plates that are transferred directly onto textiles and paper.
The workshop offers a hands-on introduction to the process, after which you can try printing yourself at Designmuseum Danmark’s manhole cover, which is located by the entrance to the museum. Simply bring a cotton T-shirt or another light-coloured textile with a minimum of 80% cotton. Printing is done with black, permanent ink, so we recommend wearing clothes that can get stained.
