The Biennial for Crafts & Design 2027

In autumn 2027, the Biennial for Crafts & Design takes over the exhibition halls at Designmuseum Danmark. In an everyday life marked by high speed and heavy consumption, the exhibition invites visitors to slow down and explore contemporary crafts and design. Here, there is time to take a closer look at the materials, forms and processes behind the works.

For 30 years, the Biennial for Crafts & Design has been both a showcase for contemporary crafts and design and a marker of the future. Standing on the shoulders of a long tradition of masterful craftsmanship, the exhibition offers insight into how today's craftspeople and designers carry the legacy forward.

The Biennial presents a diversity of works, from functional industrial design to sensuous one-of-a-kind pieces. In connection with the exhibition, the prestigious Biennial Prize of DKK 100,000 is awarded to one of the participating designers or craftspeople. The prize is donated by the Danmarks Nationalbank Anniversary Fund.

The Biennial for Crafts & Design is organised by Danske Kunsthåndværkere & Designere (DKoD).
