Spiegel Lamp (Wall/Ceiling)
Verner Panton’s Spiegel Lamp became famous as part of the designer’s total design” of the interior for the German media company Der Spiegel in Hamburg in 1969. With the Spiegel Lamp, Panton created an architectural and sculptural work that also functions as a lamp. Typical of Panton’s design, the lamp can be mounted individually or as part of a system – on the wall or on the ceiling. The large square lamp features a circular recess in the centre containing the light source. This is concealed beneath a hemispherical shade that diffuses and softens the light.
