EXPERIENCE VERNER PANTON CLASSICS IN THE CENTENARY YEAR

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Verner Panton, Designmuseum Danmark presents some of the most iconic furniture pieces by the renowned designer. Coinciding with the launch of the design festival 3daysofdesign on 10 June, the museum opens a true Panton universe that visitors can experience throughout the rest of the year. Across the museum – from the forecourt and café to the exhibitions – you can encounter a selection of furniture and lighting designs by this visionary designer.

As a visionary figure in Danish design, Verner Panton fundamentally rethought the relationship between people, space, and objects. With uncompromising curiosity and a rare willingness to experiment, he challenged the ideals of modernism and expanded the boundaries of what design could be. Panton’s works were not merely functional objects, but total experiences. Through organic forms, innovative materials, and vibrant colour palettes, he created environments that invited movement, play, and contemplation. His work left a lasting mark on Danish design history and had an influence far beyond Denmark’s borders.

Today, Verner Panton’s ideas remain a living point of reference. His holistic approach anticipates today’s understanding of sustainability as something that also encompasses durability, use, and the relationship between people, objects, and spaces.

Visit the museum and experience the many iconic pieces of furniture from 10 June and throughout the rest of the year.
