LABORATORIUM is a series of exhibitions that shed light on the design process from the very first spark of an idea to the finished piece. The third exhibition in the series takes us inside the studio of the design duo Foersom & Hiort-Lorentzen.

For more than 50 years, Johannes Foersom & Peter Hiort-Lorentzen have been designing furniture and products. Trained as a cabinetmaker and a ship’s carpenter respectively before becoming furniture architects at the Furniture School of the School of Arts and Crafts, they have also taught design for many years.

In this exhibition, we step into their studio, a space filled with classic full-scale furniture drawings on manifold, scale models, and prototypes. The exhibition takes a deep dive into the development and production process behind selected pieces of furniture.
