Embroidered Easter Letters.

During the Easter holidays, the family workshop invites children and adults to take part in a creative experience where Danish Easter traditions meet Japanese craft heritage. Together, we embroider small, personal gækkebreve (Easter letters), combining playfulness, immersion, and storytelling.

Drop by Designmuseum Denmark for a cosy and creative break. In the workshop, we work with simple embroidery techniques inspired by Japanese sashiko, a form of stitching characterised by repeating patterns and calm, rhythmic stitches, with a focus on both function and aesthetics.

Children and their accompanying adults design and embroider their own Easter letters, which can be sent as a playful Easter riddle or kept as a handmade memento. Naturally, you will take your finished Easter letter home with you, ready to find its way to someone who loves a good guess.
