SUMMER EVENTS
SUMMER AT DESIGNMUSEUM DANMARK
Visit Designmuseum Danmark this summer and experience a series of design exhibitions on Irma, Japanese woodcuts, and iconic furniture in the newly opened Danish Modern exhibition, which includes the famous ‘Chair Tunnel’. In the museum garden, enjoy cozy moments under the old linden trees, where we will host a Friday bar in mid-August, and the museum café offers drinks, lunch, and delicious cakes.
Remember, children and young people under 18 always have free admission to the entire Designmuseum Denmark.
Danish Modern
Experience the newly opened exhibition DANISH MODERN, which tells the story of Danish design – with a particular focus on some of the greatest Danish designers of the 20th century.
Museum Garden and PETAL Pavilion
In the city’s greenest museum garden, you can enjoy a delicious iced coffee from Café Format all summer while admiring the six-meter-high architect-designed bar pavilion PETAL, created by Lasovsky Johansson Architects (Juras Lasovsky and Hanna Johansson). The pavilion, developed for CHART art fair in 2023 as a proposal for beautiful, functional, and responsibly sustainable design, has now been reconstructed in the design museum’s garden. The bar operates most weekends throughout the summer and during the three concerts of Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
