Museum director Anne-Louise Sommer serves as juror at Le French Design 100 Awards in Paris
The Director of Designmuseum Danmark, Anne-Louise Sommer, has recently served as a juror at the Le French Design 100 Awards in Paris, an international recognition of the most visionary forces in contemporary design.
The award ceremony took place in the iconic setting of the Grand Palais, where leading designers, architects and creative figures from across the globe gathered to celebrate innovation and forward-thinking across disciplines.
“It is something quite special to experience the energy surrounding French design at the moment. There is a deep respect for craftsmanship and the honesty of materials – values we share in Denmark. At the same time, the differences open up new perspectives and foster inspiring dialogue,” says Anne-Louise Sommer.
As part of her jury duties, the Director took part in an extensive programme curated by Le French Design, meeting some of the most prominent voices in design, craft and interiors. The programme included visits, discussions and professional exchanges that strengthen international relations while contributing new knowledge to the Danish design scene.
The French Design Awards is a global competition recognising excellence across architecture, interiors, product design, fashion and landscape architecture. The award celebrates designers who not only shape our physical surroundings but also rethink how design is experienced and used in everyday life.
“I return home with new insights, strong connections and a renewed respect for the French design scene. An international outlook is essential to how we develop and communicate design in Denmark,” says Anne-Louise Sommer.
The results of this year’s French Design Awards have just been announced, and the competition will continue with a new round of applications for 2026.
